Valid 061200Z - 071200Z

...Central/Southern FL Peninsula...
Afternoon RH values are expected to drop into the mid 30s across
interior portions of the central and southern FL Peninsula as
northwesterly flow advects a dry airmass into the region. These dry
conditions amidst breezy northwest winds and very dry fuels will
result in an elevated to locally critical fire weather threat and no
changes are needed to the previous outlook.

...Synopsis...
A powerful longwave trough over the eastern U.S. will spread very
strong mid-level flow over portions of the southeast on D2/Thu.
Upstream of this trough, mid/upper ridging will slowly translate
eastward from the Intermountain West into the Plains by late in the
period. Another strong system will approach portions of Oregon and
northern California late in the period.

At the surface, a dry airmass will spread into the southeast and
Florida throughout the day as westerly flow becomes established on
the southern periphery of a surface low over Ohio. This dry
airmass, in conjunction with surface warming and areas of dry fuels
in the Florida Peninsula, will foster areas of elevated fire weather
conditions in the afternoon (especially in the delineated area).

Farther west, a lack of a surface pressure gradient and weakened
mid-level flow beneath the upper ridge will result in a general lack
of surface flow in dry areas of the southern Rockies and adjacent
Plains, mitigating the need for highlights there.
