...Synopsis...
A mid-level trough over the East Coast will gradually shift eastward
to into the western Atlantic during the day, spreading northwesterly
flow aloft over much of the eastern states on D2/Fri. As this
occurs, upper ridging will develop across the central states, while
the Intermountain West experiences greater influence from an
approaching trough/closed low just off the Pacific Northwest coast.
At the surface, dry northwesterly flow will continue across the
Southeast, elevating fire weather conditions once again in Florida.
A lee trough will develop along the Plains D2/Fri. afternoon,
resulting in increased surface winds and elevated fire weather
conditions in dry areas of the southern Rockies and southern/central
High Plains, and elevated delineations have been made where
confidence exists in wind fields of sufficient strength for fire
spread (especially in eastern Wyoming and adjacent areas).
