Areas affected...Eastern AR...Northern LA...East-Central TX...Far
Northwest MS...Far Southwestern TN

Concerning...Severe potential...Tornado Watch likely

Valid 262123Z - 262230Z

Probability of Watch Issuance...95 percent

SUMMARY...The severe threat is expected to persist past the
expiration of Tornado Watch 162 and a new tornado watch will be
issued across the area before 22Z.

DISCUSSION...Line of thunderstorms extending from northeast AR
southwestward into central east TX. Portion of this line in AR is
out ahead of the cold front with the cold front and outflow boundary
becoming increasingly more co-located with southern extent. Recent
radar imagery has shown an increase in storm intensity along the
front from central AR into east central TX with the expectation for
strong to severe storms to persist throughout the remainder of the
afternoon and into the evening. Tornado Watch 162 is scheduled to
expire at 22Z and a downstream tornado watch will be needed to cover
the continued severe threat across the region.
