Strong Storms Affecting Elmore, Tallapoosa, Coosa, & Clay Counties

At 4:48 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Stewartville to near Dexter. Movement was east at 30 mph. Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with these storms.

A SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY has been issued for Western Tallapoosa, Northeastern Elmore, Eastern Coosa, and Southwestern Clay counties until 5:30PM.

Locations impacted include…
Alexander City, Wetumpka, Dadeville, Ashland, Goodwater, Rockford, Kellyton, Equality, Stewartville, Eclectic, Jacksons’ Gap, New Site, Hanover, Pentonville, Martin Dam, Bradford, Santuck, Cottage Grove, Bentleyville and Hatchet.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
