Strong Storm Continues To Affect Jefferson County

At 11:32 AM CDT, the public reported a strong thunderstorm near Morris, or near Gardendale, moving east at 25 mph. Pea size hail will be possible with this storm.

A SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY has been issued for Northeastern Jefferson County until 12:00PM CDT.

Locations impacted include… Birmingham, Trussville, Gardendale, Fultondale, Center Point, Clay, Pinson, Argo, Warrior, Kimberly, Morris, Chalkville, Grayson Valley, Palmerdale, Village Springs and New Castle.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
