At 1:27 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Alexandria, or near Jacksonville, moving east at 20 mph. Dime size hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with this storm.
A SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect for Northeastern Calhoun and Northeastern Cleburne counties until 2:30PM CDT.

Jacksonville, Piedmont, Glencoe, Weaver, Mars Hills, Jacksonville State University, Alexandria, Coleman Lake And Campground, Knightens Crossroads, Liberty Hill, Sulphur Springs, Oak Level, Borden Springs and Wellington.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
