Rain increasingly setting in south-west Good morning, A south to south-westerly airflow influences the British Isles today, as various areas of low pressure are situated over the north Atlantic. High pressure lies between the Azores and Biscay, whilst another high is over eastern Scandinavia. A few showers spreading inland from western coasts in the morning, but central & eastern should escape dry most of the day, with spells of sunshine.

Mostly cloudy in the west, and rain is likely to turn more persistent in the south-west as fronts move in by afternoon. Rain spreads to much of the country into the evening and night, heaviest in the west. South to south-westerly winds will strengthen. Today's top temperatures will reach 16 or 17C in the south & east, 13 to 15C north & west, and feeling quite fresh overall. Have a great day. Garry
