A mixed week then turning colder next week Mixed conditions through the coming week. Most rain in northern and western areas, with less to the east and south. It may be windy at times too, mostly in the north. Temperatures will be varying widely although there are hints of things turning more widely colder into next week as high pressure builds to the east.

A ridge of high pressure to the west will allow for some brighter conditions and sunny spells as well as being dry. Highs at 5 to 8C.
Friday 2/2/18 Low pressure to the north of Scotland on Friday pushes fronts eastwards. These will be bringing cloud and rain, most through Scotland and northwest England. The rain tending to turn more drizzly throughout the day as some brighter spells form inland. More persistent rain returning to western Scotland and Ireland later. A windy day in the north. Highs at 8 to 12C.
Saturday 3/2/18 Low pressure remains north of Scotland on Saturday. A frontal system may be slow to clear southern areas of the UK and Ireland and could give a cloudy and wet day here. Probably turning brighter to the north with windy, colder weather and showers in Scotland and Northern Ireland. The showers turning wintry on the hills in Scotland later. Highs at 6C in northern Scotland, 11C in southern England.
Sunday 4/2/18 Higher pressure builds to the west on Sunday with low pressure to the eas. A northerly flow affects most of the UK and Ireland bringing some wintry showers on windward facing coasts and hills, but a mostly fine day overall. Highs at 4 to 7C.
Monday 5/2/18 Higher pressure building into the country on Monday as a cold northeast flow develops in England and Wales. This brings sunny spells, the best in the west but a few showers in the east. Milder with some drizzle in western Scotland. Highs at 6 to 8C. Thursday 6/2/18 Higher pressure remains through Thursday. This brings a chilly day to the south, but milder to the north. Dry with some sunshine in the south but milder to the north. Highs at 7C in Scotland, 3C in southern England.
