Cool and damp northern England, Wales and eastern Ireland but bright, warmer south whilst Scotland is dry Good morning, High pressure stays in control of the weather today, but whilst bringing plenty of dry conditions, it also causes forecasting problems because of cloud. A northeast wind affects all places but will make the east coast feel especially chilly. Most of the cloud is expected across England and eastern Wales this morning. It will be much brighter in Scotland with good spells of sunshine here, whilst some showers will be forming in the west of Ireland.
The cloud should break from the east as the morning moves into the afternoon and drier air arrives. Sunny spells develop for most, although parts of the Midlands and southern England could stay rather cloudy throughout. Feeling warm in the sunshine but much cooler where the coud persists.
