Wednesday Into Wednesday and mainly dry conditions prevail across much of England and Wales with plenty of sunshine and pleasantly warm too. However, across Scotland and Ireland it will become increasingly wet and windy, from the west, later in the day and these unsettled conditions then spreading into parts of Wales and N England by evening onwards. Highs 14C to 21C.
Wednesday Night A period of wet and very windy weather is forecast for many northern and western areas overnight, something not experienced for some considerable time and near gales are possible for parts of Scotland and N Ireland, perhaps the far north of England too. Drier further south, but even here some showers and windy weather will develop. Lows 9C to 13C.
Thursday Rather deep area of low pressure set to track to the north and north-west of the UK through the day and this bring a more unsettled period of weather with a spell of rain moving south and east, heaviest and most persistent in the north and west through the morning, the rain lighter and more patchy by the time it reaches south-east England. Cool, but bright and showery weather to follow. Still very windy across parts of the north and west.Highs 13C to 19C, lowest in the north and west.
Friday Further unsettled weather is likely for more northern and western areas into Friday at the moment, particularly Scotland, Ireland and parts of N England where some further rain or showers are possible and still rather windy here as well. A ridge of high pressure extends eastwards to the south of the UK through the day so more central and southern areas of England and Wales should have a mainly dry day with some sunny spells. Warm in the south, cooler in the north. Highs 13C to 19C, highest across south-east England.
