Week ahead: Warm and Showery At First - Cooler and Unsettled Next Week, Jun 06 - 10:14

Rather warm but showery weather is expected into this weekend, but with then a more fundamental change to cooler and unsettled weather next week.

For the weather for the next few days click here Saturday 10/6/18 Into Saturday and a day of sunshine and showers are forecast across most areas. The showers potentially heavy and thundery as the day progress, perhaps particularly across more inland areas of England and Wales, while Scotland and N Ireland may still remain predominantly dry and bright, if not sunny. There will still be some drier and sunnier intervals in-between the showers and many areas still warm. Highs 16C to 21C.

Sunday 11/6/18 During Sunday and pressure is forecast to continue to steadily fall and this means a more widespread risk of showers or perhaps thunderstorms developing during the day, but uncertainties over the details. It may well still be England and Wales that is at greatest risk of the heaviest showers, while Scotland remains somewhat drier and brighter, if not sunnier at times. Still relatively warm for most. Highs 15C to 20C.

Monday 12/6/18 Into next week and it is still a showery period of weather that is forecast to be dominating, again especially across England and Wales where pressure is likely to be lowest. Locally heavy and thundery showers are once again possible with local downpours as the day progresses, but still with more northern and perhaps western areas of the UK overal drier and still brighter with some sunny spells. Average temperatures, but a cooling trend is forecast from early next week than compared with of late. Highs, 14C to 19C.

Tuesday 13/6/18 Uncertainties over the details from next Tuesday onwards but the risk of showers is forecast to continue, again especially across England and Wales. However, there is some forecast evidence to suggest that more of an Atlantic influence to the weather may well begin to develop and this could lead to a greater risk of rain or showers arriving from the west in association with low pressure systems moving into the UK off the N Atlantic to bring about, potentially, a more protracted period of unsettled weather. Cool. Highs, 13C to 18C.

Wednesday 14/06/18 Unsettled weather seems likely by next Wednesday as low pressure and associated weather fronts move across the UK off the N Atlantic bringing a risk of rain or showers, at times to most areas, perhaps with some heavy showers at times too. Temperatures cool, especially compared with of late and in any wet weather. Highs 13C to 18C. Thursday 15/06/18 Uncertainties over the details by next Thursday but there is rather good weather model agreement for low pressure to be the dominant feature still situated over the UK bringing a risk of rain or showers at times, perhaps with some heavy rain in places too. Temperatures cool, again particularly compared with recent weeks. Highs 12C to 17C.
