Week ahead: Turning Unsettled Through the Week - First Rainfall In Some Considerable Time, Jul 11 - 09:42

Increasingly unsettled weather is now predicted through this period as low pressure develops to bring the first rainfall in some considerable time.

For the weather for the next few days click here Saturday 14/07/18 At the moment fine weather is forecast to be maintained across most areas through the course of Satudray with further spells of sunshine, perhaps prolonged at times and many inland areas remaining warm or very warm too, especially in light winds. Later in the day and parts of Scotland and Ireland could see the first more active weather system arrive, from the west, in some considerable time bringing some rain or showers here later in the day and overnight. Highs 17C to 25C, highest in the south-east.

Sunday 15/07/18 Increasingly unsettled conditions, the first in many weeks for some areas, will continue to move into the UK off the N Atlantic as low pressure develops to the north-west. More northern and western areas are likely to be at risk of some rain or showers, but more central, southern and eastern areas of England could well maintain mainly dry conditions, with some sunshine, but also with increasingly cloudy weather. Still warm or very warm in the south-east, cooler elsewhere. Highs 16C to 25C.

Monday 16/07/18 While there are uncertainties over the details, but next Monday it is low pressure that is likely to be the dominant feature across most areas bringing a more widespread risk of some rain or showers at times, but especially so across more northern and western areas, while the south and south-east will likely still have some drier intervals. Highs 16C to 23C.

Tuesday 17/07/18 Remaining more unsettled than of late by Tuesday of next week with further rain or showers, at times, perhaps especially across more northern areas of the UK, while more southern areas maintain some drier and brighter, if not sunnier conditions at times, despite a risk of showers here also. Cooler and fresher for all. Highs 16C to 21C. Wednesday 18/07/18 Lot of uncertainty over next Wednesday but there's still likely to be a bias towards lower pressure across most of the UK with further rain or showers, at times, especially in the north and west while more southern and south-eastern areas see a greater risk of drier weather at times, with some sunshine. Temperatures around average. Highs 16C to 23C. Thursday 19/07/18 A new area of low pressure could well arrive from the west by next Thursday bringing a more widespread risk of rain or showers, some perhaps heavy too across many areas, but still with a focus for the greatest risk of wet weather being across the north and west of the UK where perhaps rather breezy as well. Cool, temperatures near to average, perhaps locally slightly below in the north and west. Highs 15C to 22C, highest in the far south and south-east.
