URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 18 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 940 PM CDT Tue Mar 12 2019 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of northwest Texas * Effective this Tuesday night and Wednesday morning from 940 PM until 300 AM CDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible A tornado or two possible SUMMARY...Line of thunderstorms with embedded bowing and supercell structures will continue to pose a threat for mainly damaging wind and perhaps a tornado or two into the overnight. Some hail will also be possible. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 65 statute miles east and west of a line from 50 miles northeast of Plainview TX to 75 miles southeast of Lubbock TX.
