UK Forecast: Rain, breezy west - Dry for most, Apr 14 - 17:11

Monday A windy morning in Ireland with periods of patchy rain here. This turning more persistent into this afternoon. Drier for most of the UK, although always more cloud in eastern Scotland with some spots of drizzle here. Sunny spells developing, the best in central and eastern England. Rain arrives in the far southwest of England, turning increasingly misty and murky here through the afternoon. Winds starting to ease later. Highs at 9C on eastern coasts, 14C inland.

Monday Night A wet night in Ireland and misty too. The rain slipping into Wales and southwest England where there will be lots of hill fog. Patchy drizzle in eastern parts of Scotland. Cloudy for other areas but dry overall. Lows around 4 to 9C.

Tuesday A front extends through Ireland and into Wales and southern England on Tuesday. This brings cloud and a misty morning with rain and drizzle. Drier in central and eastern England and Scotland, but cloudy here. Breezy in northern and eastern areas. Damp from Northern Ireland, into the Midlands, Wales and southern England this afternoon with the rain becoming light. Brighter in western and southern Ireland with some sunny spells developing. Fair in Shetland and Orkney, decent spells of sunshine here. Highs at 8C in eastern Scotland, mostly 14 to 16C.

Wednesday High pressure remains on Wednesday giving an east to southeast flow. It will be feeling mild in sunny spells, best in the west. few showers may be triggered over the Home Counties with this showers extending into the Midlands and southern England as well as Wales in the afternoon. Bright for most with further spells of sunshine and highs at 11C in eastern Scotland, mostly 15 to 18C.
