Severe thunderstorm coverage is currently expected to be less than 5% on Friday. ...Synopsis and Discussion... Shortwave trough expected to be over the TN Valley early Friday will likely continue quickly eastward, moving off the Mid-Atlantic coast by Friday evening. At the same time, upper riding is expected to build from the southern High Plains back through the central Rockies and an upper low will slowly drift southward across central/southern CA. ...Mid-Atlantic... Given the lack of stronger flow aloft, the overall severe potential appears limited. Even so, isolated severe thunderstorms may occur over the Carolina Piedmont eastward to the coast ahead of the previously mentioned shortwave trough. Timing uncertainties preclude introducing severe probabilities with this forecast but low probabilities may be needed in subsequent outlooks. ...Far West TX...Far Southeast NM...
