URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 226 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 940 PM CDT Thu May 23 2019 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Northwest Texas * Effective this Thursday night and Friday morning from 940 PM until 300 AM CDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible SUMMARY...A cluster of strong to severe storms should persist into the early overnight with primary hazards being large hail and damaging winds. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 50 statute miles north and south of a line from 60 miles west of Lubbock TX to 80 miles east of Plainview TX.
