...THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS PARTS OF
THE UPPER AND MID MS VALLEY AND NM/TX REGION...

...SUMMARY...
Strong/severe thunderstorms will be noted this evening from southern
Minnesota into southern Wisconsin. A few severe storms will also
linger across southeast New Mexico and west Texas.

...Discussion...

Complex, and seasonally weak, split large-scale pattern continues
across the CONUS this evening. Remnants of Monday night MCS have
progressed into southern MN where old MCV appears to be partly
responsible for renewed, strong/severe convection. Leading edge of
this activity has formed into a squall line and is propagating
southeast into southwest WI. Latest diagnostic data suggests air
mass downstream into southern WI will support organized isolated
severe and 01z outlook will focus higher severe probs along a
corridor from southern WI into southern MN as cold pool-driven
outflow is surging into this region.

Farther southwest, strong convection has once again developed over
the mountains from northern Mexico into NM. This activity will
spread into the southern High Plains over the next few hours as weak
LLJ strengthens some near the NM/TX border. Even so, this activity
should gradually weaken later this evening.
