Areas affected...northeast MT
Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 338...
Valid 062354Z - 070100Z
The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 338
continues.
SUMMARY...High-based storms will continue to be capable of 60-70mph
gusts across northeast MT early this evening.
DISCUSSION...Latest surface analysis indicates temperature-dewpoint
spreads across northeast MT are 50-55 degrees F. The 00z Glasgow,
MT raob showed a very deep boundary layer (inverted-V profile) with
around 500 J/kg MLCAPE. Around 25kt 0-6km shear was sampled by the
raob which would indicate some storm organization with the cold
pool. The strongest thunderstorm core may be capable of sporadic
occurrences of 1 inch diameter hail but the main risk with this
activity will be 60-70mph gusts.
