The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 436
continues.

SUMMARY...Damaging winds and hail will continue to be a concern as a
line of storms surges southward toward the Dallas-Fort Worth
Metroplex. A downstream watch may be needed into parts of central TX
by 03z.

DISCUSSION...A couple of lines of storms were affecting portions of
northern TX this evening. A small bowing segment from Taylor into
Stephens Counties produced a 53 kt gust at Abilene in the last hour
with hail up to 1.75 inches also reported. Further to the north,
convection extended from near Throckmorton County northeastward
along the Red River. These storms have generally produced sub-severe
gusts. However, a more unstable and moist downstream airmass ahead
of a strengthening cold pool behind the line may be sufficient for
the line to become better organized and surge more southward toward
the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex over the next couple of hours. If
the line can become better organized and intensify, expect that a
corridor of greater damaging wind potential will reside along the
I-35E and I-45 vicinity into the late evening/nighttime hours. If
this occurs, a new watch downstream of WW 436 may be needed prior to
03z.
