Mesoscale Discussion 0940 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0718 PM CDT Sat Jun 01 2019 Areas affected...Far east central Missouri including the western St. Louis metro area. Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 307... Valid 020018Z - 020115Z The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 307 continues. SUMMARY...A cluster of storms is moving south toward St. Louis with an increasing damaging wind threat. DISCUSSION...A cluster of supercells in Lincoln and Calhoun counties has started to congeal with an area of strong inbound velocities noted from KLSX in the RFD region of the easternmost supercell. This may be the beginning stages of a developing bowing segment as these storms continue to congeal. These storms are in an environment with MLCAPE around 1500 to 2000 J/kg and effective shear around 50 to 60 knots per LSX VWP which will continue to support storm organization into the overnight hours. MRMS MESH continues to show 1.5 to 2 inch hail with both of the supercells in this cluster. Therefore, the St. Louis metro area will be under a significant threat for both large hail and damaging winds for the next 1 to 2 hours, especially on the west side. ..Bentley.. 06/02/2019 ...Please see www.spc.noaa.gov for graphic product...
