Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 223

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
  Parts of northwest into central Texas

* Effective this Sunday night from 705 PM until Midnight CDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2
    inches in diameter likely
  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely

SUMMARY...Multiple thunderstorm cluster and boundary mergers are
expected this evening into the early overnight hours.  The storms
will primarily be multicell in structure, but strong instability
suggests the potential for large hail with the newer storm
development, and damaging outflow winds after storm mergers and core
collapses.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 40
statute miles east and west of a line from 70 miles north of Abilene
TX to 30 miles south southeast of Junction TX. For a complete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
