...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR NORTHWEST NEVADA...
...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER AREA FOR EASTERN ARIZONA AND WESTERN NEW
MEXICO...

...Synopsis...
A strong mid-level jet will move into Oregon today as an upper-level
trough settles across the Pacific Northwest. This increasing
mid-level flow will lead to some critical fire weather conditions in
northwestern Nevada. A weak upper-low can be seen in southern
Arizona on water-vapor this morning. Slightly stronger mid-level
flow is present ahead of this low which may lead to critical fire
weather conditions in eastern Arizona and western New Mexico.

Isolated to widely scattered dry thunderstorms are expected across a
broad region from the Southwest into the Great Basin and central
Rockies.

...Northwest Nevada...
Strong downslope flow is expected to develop by late this afternoon
across northwest Nevada. This will lead to breezy 25 to 30 mph winds
across northwest Nevada during the afternoon. In addition, relative
humidity is expected to be 12 to 17 percent in the region.

...Eastern Arizona and Western New Mexico...
A narrow corridor of stronger mid-level flow (~30 knots) is expected
ahead of an upper low on Saturday afternoon. Deep mixing will bring
some of these stronger winds to the surface as relative humidity
drops below 10 percent. Therefore, a narrow corridor of critical
fire weather conditions are expected from eastern Arizona into
western New Mexico.

...Isolated Dry Thunderstorms - Much of the Southwest, Great Basin
and western Colorado...
A broad area of isolated to widely scattered storms are expected to
develop across much of the Southwest into the Great Basin and
western Colorado. PWAT values in this morning are expected to be in
the 0.5 to 0.6" range. In addition, very deep mixing is expected
with LCLs above 15 kft. Therefore, storms will likely be on the
drier side.

...North-central Oregon and south-central Washington...
Downslope flow in the lee of the Cascades will lead to dry and windy
conditions across much of central Oregon and Washington. Fuels are
still mostly green across this region, but some low-elevation
grasses have recently cured in east-central Oregon and south-central
Washington. Therefore, a small elevated area has been added in this
region.
