Rain affecting Ireland and Northern Ireland. Largely dry elsewhere. Wind and rain across northern Scotland will continue to ease on Wednesday morning. A building ridge of high pressure will give a largely dry and sunny morning to most places, although with low pressure close by to the west, cloudier skies and spells of rain will spread into southern and western Ireland. This afternoon will the rain spread across Ireland and into Northern Ireland later on. Patchy drizzle could affect some Irish Sea coastal areas of western Wales at times. Dry elsewhere but cloud will thicken across western parts with the best of the sunshine in the east. Overnight it will be mostly cloudy across northern and western parts of the British Isles and rain will continue to affect Ireland, Northern Ireland and western Scotland before spreading across central and southern Scotland and into northern Wales and northwest England through the early hours. There will also be a strengthening southeasterly wind in the west. Remaining dry with clear spells across central and southern England and southern Wales.
