Mesoscale Discussion 1124 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0739 PM CDT Mon Jul 06 2020 Areas affected...southeast Pennsylvania...southeast Maryland...and southern Delaware Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 333... Valid 070039Z - 070245Z The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 333 continues. SUMMARY...An organizing line of storms will continue to pose the risk for damaging wind across southeast Maryland and southern Delaware. DISCUSSION...Convection ongoing across eastern MD, southern NJ, and northern DE is gradually organizing into a small south/southeastward propagating MCS as cold pool amalgamation continues. Several reports of wind damage and observed 50-60 mph winds have been noted in association with this developing MCS. The environment ahead of this line of storms remains favorable for organized convection with 30 knots of effective bulk shear and upwards of 2000 J/kg of MLCAPE, and will continue to support the potential for damaging wind gusts for the next 1-2 hours. Further to the north, semi-discrete storms should pose a threat for severe wind and hail in the near term for southeast PA, but will likely evolve into a unorganized cluster of storms as they move to the south/southeast along the instability gradient on the western periphery of prior outflow. ..Moore.. 07/07/2020 ...Please see www.spc.noaa.gov for graphic product...
