Areas affected...North-Central SD

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 352...

Valid 110201Z - 110330Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 352
continues.

SUMMARY...Isolated severe thunderstorms will linger across
north-central South Dakota the next few hours.

DISCUSSION...Northern Plains short-wave trough is topping the
western US upper ridge and is now beginning to dig southeast across
the Dakotas. Exit region of a mid-level jet appears partly
responsible for ongoing convection across this region. A few severe
storms with hail have progressed along the ND/SD border E-NE of MBG.
This activity is turning more southerly as low-level convergence is
refocusing farther south in advance of the short wave. Latest radar
data suggests this convection will move along a weak boundary that
is oriented across Edmunds into northern Spink County. While these
storms will likely exit the eastern edge of ww352, it's not entirely
clear how far east these storms will remain severe. For these
reasons a new ww is not currently expected.
