Areas affected...lower Texas coast

Concerning...Tornado Watch 402...

Valid 260823Z - 261030Z

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 402 continues.

SUMMARY...Tornado threat will continue across south Texas through
the morning. The primary area of concern will be across far south
Texas in the vicinity of Brownsville.

DISCUSSION...The low-level wind field across south Texas will remain
conducive for at least transient low-level circulations within
persistent Tropical Storm Hanna convective bands through the
morning. Recent radar trends have shown an increase in low-level
rotation associated with a two distinct convective bands: 1) across
northeast Mexico, immediately south of Brownsville; and 2) over the
Gulf of Mexico to the east-southeast of Brownsville. Additional
intense/persistent convective bands exist farther east across the
western Gulf of Mexico.

As Hanna continues to slowly move into northern Mexico, these
convective bands across the far western Gulf of Mexico will continue
to move onshore. As this occurs, the threat for tornadoes will
continue through the morning.
