Monday 03/08/20 Areas of showers will pass eastwards through the day, with some heavy and locally thundery bursts forming by the afternoon in eastern Britain. A frontal system skirting southern Britain brings a risk of steadier rain for southern counties, and cloudier skies. Occasional sun, developing mostly around western coasts in the afternoon as pressure builds briefly. A light to moderate westerly breeze. Highs 16 to 22C, warmest southeast.
Tuesday 04/08/20 Starting dry in east and southern regions, but fronts coming in from the west bring cloud and rain to set in across western Britain and Ireland from early in the day. Heaviest falls over western hills of England and Wales into the afternoon, whilst rain is likely to extend to many areas. The south and southeast of England, plus far north of Scotland, may see very little. Brisk southwesterly winds. Highs 17 to 22C.
Wednesday 05/08/20 A series of fronts will continue to drift eastwards, bringing rain or showers for several hours to some areas, although detail uncertain. Will gradually clear from the west. A chance of only small amounts of rain toward the east and southeast. Fresh westerly winds. Highs 16 to 24C, warmest southeast away from rain.
Thursday 06/08/20 Pressure is expected to build from the south, as previous weather systems clear. A risk of fronts still affecting the northwest, with patchy rain or showers. Many places seeing well broken cloud and sunshine, perhaps very warm in the south. Highs 18 to 27C. Friday 07/08/20 High pressure is likely to be in charge, with dry and sunny weather likely for most places and temperatures rising. A chance of remnants of previous weather systems bringing cloud and local showers to the northwest. Highs 23 to 30C. Saturday 08/08/20 Most places should remain dry under generally high pressure and light winds. Chance of a shower in the northwest. Light winds and sea breezes. Highs 22 to 28C.
