NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
1003 PM CDT Tue Aug 11 2020

Areas affected...southwestern North Dakota/northwestern South Dakota

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 432...

Valid 120303Z - 120500Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 432
continues.

SUMMARY...Risk for damaging winds continues in/near WW 432.

DISCUSSION...latest radar loop shows a semi-continuous band of
storms moving east-southeastward across southwestern North Dakota
and adjacent northwestern South Dakota at around 30 kt. With
low-level southeasterly flow veering to west-northwesterly aloft,
and favorable downstream instability in place, expect storms to
continue crossing the WW -- accompanied by risk for strong/locally
damaging wind gusts. Greatest short-term risk exists across Perkins
County South Dakota, where the most intense/vigorous band of storms
is occurring. With an axis of 3000 J/kg mixed-layer CAPE just to
the southeast, extending southeastward across South Dakota, expect
this band of storms to remain organized/forward-propagating.
