NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK

Areas affected...Northern Oklahoma

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 442...

Valid 160228Z - 160400Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 442
continues.

SUMMARY...Isolated strong/severe thunderstorms will move west across
northern Oklahoma over the next few hours. Some hail and wind remain
possible.

DISCUSSION...Small cluster of thunderstorms that developed over
southwest MO earlier this afternoon have propagated west-southwest
over the last few hours, and continue at roughly 20 kt. Despite the
lack of large-scale forcing, these updrafts have largely continued
due to moisture/strong buoyancy observed across northern OK.
However, over the last hour or so it appears updraft intensity has
weakened considerably. Given these trends, marginally severe hail
and winds generally less than 50 mph may be noted with this small
cluster as it spreads toward the western edge of ww442 by 04z.
