NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK

Areas affected...North central Oregon and south central Washington.

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 446...

Valid 180300Z - 180430Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 446
continues.

SUMMARY...An isolated damaging-wind threat continues for the next 1
to 2 hours in northwest portions of watch 446.

DISCUSSION...Overall storm activity has struggled within severe
thunderstorm watch 446, but the strongest storms have been in
western portions of the watch. This corresponds to a plume of
mid-level moisture which can be observed on water vapor imagery and
was observed on the 00Z MFR and OTX RAOB. This increase in mid-level
moisture has increased elevated instability in this region (~1500
MUCAPE per SPC mesoanalysis). Therefore, while the severe weather
threat is likely waning, a few strong to severe storms remain
possible for the next few hours, especially where the elevated
instability is greatest.
