URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 422 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1005 PM CDT Sat Aug 8 2020 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of northeast Nebraska eastern South Dakota * Effective this Saturday night and Sunday morning from 1005 PM until 500 AM CDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 80 mph possible Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible SUMMARY...Mostly multicell lines of storms capable of damaging wind and some hail will continue through northern Nebraska and central through eastern South Dakota tonight. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 100 statute miles east and west of a line from 35 miles northwest of Aberdeen SD to 40 miles south southwest of Yankton SD.
