Mixed through the week but drier for a time at the weekend, turning cooler The weather turns mixed through the coming week. There will be periods of showers and rain at times. However, as temperatures falling at the end of the week and into this weekend, the weather will become drier for a couple of days, with only scattered showers. Watch for the risk of a ground frost in more sheltered areas. Turning more mixed again towards the end of the forecast period.

This brings periods of showery rain, some of them heavy across central and eastern England. Sunnier spells across Scotland and Ireland as well as northern England, these slipping into Wales later. Saturday 29/8/20 A cool, northerly flow affects the UK and Ireland on Saturday. There will be some god spells of sunshine but also a scattering of showers blowing in on the breeze. Most of the showers affecting coasts and hills which are exposed to the wind. Highs at 13 to 17C.
Sunday 30/8/20 A ridge of high-pressure will affect the whole of Ireland and the UK on Sunday. After a cold start the day will be bright and dry with broken cloud and sunny spells. Feeling cool. Highs at 14 to 17C.
Monday 31/8/20 The ridge of high pressure remains on Monday for much of the UK. This brings a dry day with sunny spells after a cold start. Fronts moving into western Ireland with rain here. Highs at 15C in Ireland, 15 to 18C elsewhere.
Tuesday 1/9/20 Lower pressure drifts into the UK and Ireland on Tuesday.This gives outbreaks of rain and showers through the day. Temperatures at a chilly 13 to 15C in the west, 17C in the east. Wednesday 2/9/20 Low pressure tending to be to the south of the country through Wednesday. This brings cloud and rain in England, Wales and Ireland. Drier in Scotland and brighter, especially in the west. Highs at 13 to 16C.
