Week ahead: Showers east and south - Drier west and north, Aug 05 - 09:27

The heat eases, some showers east and south but drier west and north Temperatures rising in the days ahead, becoming hot over many areas. There is the risk of some rain in the north and west into the weekend, this introducing fresher conditions here. next week sees a breezier spells in southern and eastern parts with the threat of some showery rain. More western and northern parts stay brighter and drier with the best of the sunshine here.

For the weather for the next few days click here Saturday 8/8/20 A brisk north easterly flow affects much of central and southern England and Wales on Saturday. This brings plenty of cloud and the threat of one or two showers across southern England. Much brighter skies for western and northern Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Ireland with plenty of sunshine here, although always the threat of a shower in northern Scotland. Highs at 29C in southeast England, 19C in northern Scotland.

Sunday 9/8/20 Staying breezy across England and Wales through Sunday. They will be a fair amount of cloud and there could be some showery outbreaks of rain affecting eastern England. The best sunshine always in Scotland, western Wales and Ireland. Highs at 23C in southern England, 22C in Ireland and western Scotland, but 16C on eastern coasts in the breeze.

Monday 10/8/20 The north-easterly flow persists across the country during Monday. There will be plenty of cloud and there could be some showery bursts of rain at times. However many areas stay dry. Temperatures rising to 24C in the southeast, 18 to 20C elsewhere.

Tuesday 11/8/20 The north to north-east wind brings more cloud during Tuesday. There could be some spots of rain affecting eastern parts of the country, and perhaps a few bits of drizzle across central and southern areas. Western Park should be brighter and dry up with some bright or some sunny spells. Temperatures at 25C in southern England, 18C in northern Scotland.

Wednesday 12/8/20 Low pressure to the south with higher pressure to the north. A strong northeast breeze in much of England and Wales with showers and rain at times here. Drier in Scotland and Ireland with some sunny spells. Highs at 19 to 25C. Thursday 13/8/20 Conditions may become more unsettled across much of England and Wales through Thursday. Periods of rain, some of them heavy and sundry could affect many areas, although it is worth noting that confidence is low. Drive for much of Scotland and Ireland with some bright or sunny spells but the risk of some rain in the far north. Highs at 18 to 22C.
