Unsettled weather this week with wind and rain before a brief ridge comes about on Sunday into Monday. Mixed through next week. Remnants of Tropical Storm Kyle will bring rain and humidity through the next 24 hours before a fresher feel comes about behind a cold front tomorrow. Windy at times and expect mixed conditions next week still.
For the weather for the next few days click here Saturday 22/08/20 With low pressure passing to the north of Scotland on Saturday expect a breezy day for all. There will be showers about, these heavy and blustery, particularly so in the north and west where they could merge into longer spells of rain at times. Further south and east should be drier and brighter although don't hold out for it to be completely dry as showers can blow in on that brisk wind. Highs at 17C in northern Scotland, 22C in southeast England.
Sunday 23/08/20 Low pressure will continue to circulate just northeast of Scotland allowing for a wet and windy day across the far north of the country as well as the Northern Isles. Meanwhile, a weak and brief ridge of high pressure will build over the country on Sunday. This will allow for a generally brighter day for many but still with showers about. Ireland, however, will see cloudier skies and spells of rain push across. Highs at 21C in the south and in the north at 15C.
Monday 24/08/20 Much of the UK will benefit from the ridge of high pressure still on Monday, however, Ireland and Northern Ireland will see rain spread in from the west. The rain will spread east and reach western parts of Scotland, England and Wales later on in the day. Another cooler day for all with max temperatures in the south at 20C and in the north of Scotland at 15C.
Tuesday 25/08/20 An unsettled day on Tuesday as low pressure tracks eastwards across Ireland and Scotland. A band of rain, heavy at times, will push east with winds strengthening. The far east and southeast of England will stay drier for longer before rain reaches this region later on. Behind the rain band expect showers, some heavy, and these could merge into longer spells of rain at times. Highs at 23C in the southeast and 16C further north.
Wednesday 26/08/20 Low pressure remains over the UK midweek so expect a mixed day of weather with some sunny spells but plenty of showers or even longer spells of rain about. Winds will be brisk and it will feel chilly in the north in a cold northerly brisk wind. High temperatures range from 14C to 20C. Thursday 27/08/20 Low pressure will track eastwards and move over Scandinavia while high pressure builds in the west. There will be showers, some heavy and persistent in the east with a brisk and chilly northerly wind here. Further west, winds will be lighter and showers will be fewer with largely dry conditions across Ireland, Northern Ireland and much of western UK by the end of the day. High temperatures range from 14 to 20C.
