Areas affected...Southern MN...Northern/Eastern IA

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 486...

Valid 060426Z - 060600Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 486
continues.

SUMMARY...Hail threat continues with storms tonight.

DISCUSSION...Large-scale forcing for ascent appears to be spreading
rapidly southeast across the upper Red River Valley region ahead of
a digging short-wave trough. Numerous elevated thunderstorms have
developed in response to a strengthening LLJ which should continue
to feed convection as it propagates southeast into northern IA over
the next few hours. Latest radar data suggests several severe hail
cores have developed within maturing convection across northern
portions of ww486, and this should continue well into the pre dawn
hours with some clustering likely. Severe threat remains primarily
large hail.
