Areas affected...Lower MI

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 488...

Valid 070420Z - 070615Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 488
continues.

SUMMARY...Clusters of strong storms will spread across the remainder
of ww488 over the next several hours. Hail remains the primary risk.

DISCUSSION...Back edge of a progressive short-wave trough is
advancing across Lake MI. Several thunderstorm clusters have evolved
ahead of this feature within a focused zone of low-level warm
advection beneath a veered LLJ. While hail remains the primary risk
with this activity, latest MRMS data suggests most hail cores are
generally less than 1 inch. While storm inflow is from a more
buoyant air mass upstream across lower Lake MI, convection will
gradually spread east into a region that may become less supportive
of intense updrafts capable of producing severe hail.
