Not as hot as recently but staying warm overall, mainly dry until next week, a brisk wind in the south The hot temperatures of the last few days are likely to be disappearing quickly, although it will still remain warm for many areas especially in the west. The sky is clear overnight there could be some cool mornings with mist and fog patches in the north. Most areas are going to be staying dry and there will be some decent spells of sunshine. Friday 18/09/20 High pressure holds to the east as a weak front makes its way across northern Scotland on Friday. This brings cloudier skies here and patchy, mostly light, rain. Staying dry and fine for England, Wales and Ireland although becoming breezy across southern England. More cloud in the south of England too as a front approaches southwestern areas. Feeling cool in that breeze, especially in the east, but warm for most, especially in the west. Highs at 24C in southern England but 15C along eastern coasts.

Saturday 19/09/20 Saturday will see high pressure build back over northern parts of the British Isles while lower pressure stays to the south. A largely dry and fine day for most areas though southern parts of England will be cloudier with rain brushing the southern coast. It will be breezy here too. A risk of some low cloud hugging the coasts of northeast England and southeast England, perhaps giving some spots of drizzle. Highs at 15C in northern Scotland, 21C in southern England, but feeling cool for all in the breeze in the south.

Sunday 20/09/20 High pressure stays to the north of the UK and Ireland on Sunday, but with low pressure close by southern areas there are likely to be outbreaks of rain for parts of southern England and south Wales. At the present time most of this looks set to be fairly light. The best sunshine in Scotland, northwest England and western coasts of Wales. Highs range from 14C in the far northwest to 21C in the southeast. Monday 21/09/20 Pressure remains high over most of the UK and Ireland on Monday. There will be plenty of sunny spells, the best of these in more western areas of England and Wales as well as Scotland. Some lower cloud may affect eastern coast of England perhaps bringing some spots of drizzle too. Highs at 16 to 22C. Tuesday 22/09/20 Little change for Tuesday with a slack pressure flow affecting all areas. Broken client and sunny spells are likely and many areas will be dry. However, scattered showers may develop in the far south of England and there could be some low cloud and a few spots of drizzle over eastern Ireland. Tops at 15C in northwest Scotland, 24C in southeast England. Wednesday 23/09/20 Change in weather conditions on Wednesday as low-pressure sweeps eastwards. This will bring cloud and periods of rain as well as the risk of strong winds to all areas. Detail is tricky to pin down at the present time although it seems as if the heaviest rain will be in the west. A much cooler day at 12 to 17C.
