Mild west & south, cool east Wednesday High pressure across southern Europe brings plenty of dry and sunny weather to Mediterranean regions. A few showers may clip the far south of Spain, but much of Iberia stays dry. Rain may arrive in the far north-west later. Variable cloud and some sunshine for southern France, Italy and Greece, temperatures around 14C. Fronts bring wind and rain to northern France, spreading to Belgium and the Netherlands, and later north-western Germany. Central Europe remains dry, with some sun across the Alpine and Balkan regions, quite mild at 8 to 10C in Austria and Hungary. Rain on and off for Denmark, western Norway and southern Sweden, where highs will be 3 to 7C. Strong to gale force winds around North Sea coasts. A zone of patchy rain and snow moves across the Baltic to affect Finland. Snow showers in northern Scandinavia.
Thursday A weakening front will extend across central Europe, producing outbreaks of rain from the Baltic to Biscay. Some heavy and persistent rain for Portugal and northern Spain, whilst southern & eastern Spain remains dry and mild. Fine weather again for the Mediterranean, with sunshine for Italy, the Balkans and Greece. Dry but cool in Turkey. Patchy rain across central France, southern Germany and Poland will tend to fade through the day. Fairly mild across the Alps. Cooler and brighter for the Low Countries and Denmark. Breezy in Scandinavia, and showery in western Norway. Mainly dry in Sweden. Risk of snowfall in Finland as low pressure moves eastwards.
