European Summary: Very unsettled - Gales across the Mediterranean, Feb 14 - 04:43

Rain & snow across Spain Today A very disturbed weather pattern prevails across Europe today. Early rain clears England. Heavy showers are expected across France. Cold across the Low Countries with outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow. Heavy rain, mixed with snow is expected across Spain while heavy snow falls over The Alps. Cloudy across Italy with rain. Heavier rain will affect The Adriatic Region, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Greece. For western Turkey, Romania, much of the Ukraine and Poland it looks fair and dry. Light rain and snow will affect eastern Turkey. Outbreaks of rain to come across Germany. Bitterly cold but dry and sunny today across Norway and Sweden while heavy snow is forecast across Finland, northern Russia and the Baltic States. Gales will affect Iberia, southern France and much of the Mediterranean with very strong winds through the Straits of Gibraltar.

Monday A cold day across Europe. A dry, sunny day to come across England. Snow showers will affect the Low Countries with outbreaks of moderate to locally heavy snow across eastern France, Germany and the Alps. Rain is expected across Poland and much of the Adriatic Region and the Balkans, but fine and dry across Greece into Turkey. A few showers are likely across northern parts of Italy with the south dry. Rain to affect Romania, The Ukraine and Belarus. Outbreaks of snow persist across Germany with a few rain, sleet and snow showers across Spain. Spells of snow are forecast for the Baltic States, northern parts of Russia and Finland. Sweden and Norway will remain bitterly cold but dry and sunny. Strong winds will persist across the Mediterranean, Iberia and up into the Black Sea.
