Rain develops in the north-west Good morning, It's a cold start to the morning, with lowest values around dawn locally -5C or lower in some rural areas. There will be plenty of sunshine across central, eastern & southern Britain today, whilst cloud will build in the west & north as fronts moves in off the Atlantic.
Intermittent rain spreads across Ireland and into western Scotland, becoming persistent and heavy over the hills. Southerly winds will be gale force in exposed spots in the north & west. Today's top temperatures will be around 5 or 6C by early afternoon in most places, climbing to 8C in the south-west. Not as cold tonight as wind, rain and cloud advances across the country.
