Week ahead: Unsettled, breezy & chilly - Turning milder, Feb 14 - 10:18

Frosts at times Overall much of this week will be mostly an unsettled one with low pressure dominating Britain. Temperatures will be around normal but with a brisk north east then north wind, it will feel colder the first few days. Frosts and icy patches are likely overnight into mid week. Towards the end of the week milder conditions come in from the west. For the weather for the next few days click here Wednesday 17/02/16 Cooler and breezy with rain across England and Wales, dry and sunnier to the north. The rain gradually clears Wales and the south west tonight with light rain, sleet and wet snow possible across eastern England. Frosty in the west and north with icy patches. Expect highs of 4 to 7C.

Thursday 18/02/16 Sleety rain in the south east slowly clears during the day. A few showers to come in the west. Mainly dry with well broken cloud elsewhere. As strong south west winds develop across the north tonight, cloud and rain spreads in across northern and western parts of Britain. Expect maximum temperatures of 5 to 8C.

Friday 19/02/16 Milder and windy with outbreaks of rain, heavy in the west. Scotland and Northern Ireland turn dry for the afternoon. It stays damp across the country into the night with rain, this heavier across the north west. Expect maximum temperatures of 7 to 10C.

Saturday 20/02/16 Very mild and windy with a risk of gales across northern Britain. A misty, murky day with patchy rain and drizzle. More persistent rain may affect Scotland. Expect maximum temperatures of 9 to 14C. Sunday 21/02/16 It stays mild and windy. Lots of cloud and dry weather but with some patchy rain or drizzle in places. Expect maximum temperatures of 8 to 12C Monday 22/02/16 Breezy a number of showers to come around western areas. Central and eastern areas look chiefly dry with the best of the sunshine. Expect maximum temperatures of 7 to 12C.
