Frosts at times this week Overall much of this week will be mostly an unsettled one with low pressure dominating Britain. Temperatures will be above normal at first but it looks to become progressively cooler as we go through the week as temperatures eventually return closer to normal values. A few wintry showers may affect northern Scotland and north east coasts. Dry and colder with a frost overnight. Expect highs of 4 to 8C.
Wednesday 24/02/16 A chilly day with temperatures around normal. Lots of dry, bright weather to come with sunny spells. Scattered, wintry showers are possible near North Sea coasts and western Scotland. Cold, clear and frosty across the country overnight. Expect maximum temperatures of 4 to 7C.
Thursday 25/02/16 It stays cool but a bit milder for Scotland. Rain and showers are expected but mainly dry across central and eastern parts of Britain. Frosty across northern areas overnight. Expect maximum temperatures of 6 to 7C.
Friday 26/02/16 It may be cloudy with some rain across Wales and the southern half of England, perhaps mixed with some sleet over the hills as it gradually clears through the day. Slightly milder in the south, a bit colder elsewhere. Expect maximum temperatures of 5 to 8C. Saturday 27/02/16 Today a strong south east wind may develop and with near normal temperatures, feeling colder. Some splashes of rain may affect the country at times. (low confidence). Expect maximum temperatures of 5 to 7C Sunday 28/02/16 Breezy with a risk of wintry showers across eastern areas. An area of rain with sleet and snow over the hills may spread up across Wales and central and southern parts of England. Expect maximum temperatures of 4 to 7C.
