Cooler and showery north Wednesday A slow moving front encroaches toward western Iberia, and rain will increasingly develop for Portugal and north-west Spain, turning heavy and thundery into the afternoon. Most of Spain will be dry, sunny and very warm, topping 25C in the east. Dry and sunny weather extends across the whole Mediterranean region. A southerly breeze will bring increasingly warm air to southern France & Italy. Temperatures in Greece and Turkey reaching 17 to 20C. Similar warm weather extends across the Balkans and Romania. Cloudy for northern France, with outbreaks of rain. Fronts stretching west to east bring a few hours of persistent rain to Germany & Poland, temperatures 10 to 13C. Breezy for the Low Countries & Denmark, some heavy showers. Patchy rain across eastern Europe. Windy in northern Norway with snow showers. Lighter winds across southern Norway and Sweden, with plenty of bright weather but isolated slow moving showers, highs 9 or 10C. A few showers for Finland.
Thursday Low pressure across Iberia brings thundery rain and gusty winds to Spain, spreading east through the day. Portugal should become brighter, but windy and cool. A warm southerly flow brings increasingly high temperatures to the south and south-east of Europe. High pressure brings dry weather and sunshine to Italy, Greece and the eastern Mediterranean. Temperatures widely topping 20C, and likely 25C across the Balkan countries and toward the Black Sea. Increasingly warm too for central Europe. An area of heavy rain and thunderstorms will affect France, extending into Belgium. Bursts of rain also spread to Germany. Showery in Norway and Denmark. Sunny spells for Sweden and Finland. Breezy and showery in the Baltic states. Patchy rain may reach Poland.
