Chilly overall with rain, sleet and snow, but hints of milder next week Chilly conditions persist through the coming week. It is going to be unsettled with low pressure bringing rain, followed by sleet and snow especially on the hills. A cld weekend as the winds become northerly with further wintry showers, especially on coasts and hills. Hints of some milder conditions next week.

This brings a cold and breezy day with some periods of rain and sleet over much of England and Wales. Snow affecting the hills. Wintry showers in eastern England and Scotland too. Brighter further west with sunny spells. Highs at 4 to 8C.

Saturday 5/3/16 A northerly flow over the UK on Saturday. This brings the threat of some wintry showers around exposed coasts and hills. The most frequent of the wintry showers affecting eastern parts of Scotland and England. Generally brighter to the west. Cold for all. Highs at 4 to 7C.

Sunday 6/3/16 Low pressure stays to the east on Sunday. This brings a chilly northeast wind through all areas. There will be some showers on eastern coasts, these wintry at times. Drier to the west and brighter too. Feeling chilly with tops of 3 to 8C.

Monday 7/3/16 A slack pressure flow across the country on Monday. This brings cool air with it once again and a mix of wintry showers. There could be a fair amount of cloud in more eastern and southern areas. Brighter north and west but some wintry showers here too. Highs at 3 to 7C. Tuesday 8/3/16 Low pressure passes to the north of Scotland on Tuesday. This may bring wetter and windier weather here. More southern areas are likely to be drier and milder, although low cloud and drizzle afecting western coasts and hills. Highs at 5 to 10C. Wednesday 9/3/16 A milder day with rain clearing to leave sunshine and showers. Some of the showers could be heavy in the north and west. Highs at 6 to 10C.
