Cool and breezy northern Europe Saturday Unsettled conditions across north & western Europe as low pressure dominates. Thundery rain persists for Portugal and northern Spain, whilst the south-east of Spain remains dry and warm, highs locally topping 25C. Dry and warm too across southern France and the Mediterranean islands. High pressure influences south-eastern Europe, bringing plenty of dry weather. Italy, the Balkans and Greece will see warm sunshine. Temperatures rising, widely toward 25C inland. Bursts of rain spread across central France, the western Alps and southern Germany. Cool, breezy and showery for northern France, the Low Countries and northern Germany, temperatures 10 to 13C. Some persistent rain at times for Denmark. Occasional rain for Poland and the Baltic states. Low pressure across Scandinavia will trigger areas of showers. Chilly in northern areas, some snow.
Sunday Heavy rain and thunderstorms will move across central France into southern Germany overnight, and is likely to persist across Alpine regions for much of the day. Areas of heavy showers continue for northern Iberia, where it will be rather cool, although much of Spain and Portugal will see dry weather, and some warm sunshine in the south. The south-east of Europe remains dry and very warm, with temperatures up to 27 to 30C in inland across the Balkans, also Bulgaria and Romania, including Black Sea coasts. By contrast, north-western Europe is much cooler, temperatures just 11 to 13C across northern France and Germany. Scattered showers possible. A cool breeze will affect North Sea coasts and southern Scandinavia. Rain on and off for southern Sweden. Rain spreads east across Poland into the Baltic states.
