Widespread frost tonight Good morning, It will be a chilly day for all today, as a brisk northerly wind affects the British Isles, strongest toward the east coast. Areas of rain may persist in eastern England for many hours, some sleet or wet snow mixed in too. Sunny spells will develop, these most widespread for southern Scotland and the west of England & Wales in the morning.
Snow showers affect northern Scotland from the word go, and will break out increasingly inland elsewhere through the day, spreading south across central & southern Britain & Ireland during the afternoon. Temperatures will really struggle, highs just 7 or 8C for many, locally 10C in far south, but for several hours it may stay below 5C. Feeling sub-zero in the wind. Frost forming widely tonight, locally dipping to -3C or lower. Have a great day. Garry
