European Summary: Thundery again - More rain central Europe, Jun 04 - 05:43

Hot & sunny southern Spain & Portugal Saturday Shallow low pressure continues to influence central and southern Europe, whilst high pressure stays to the west and north. A dry and very warm day for most of Spain & Portugal, highs 30C. Afternoon thunderstorms for the Pyrenees and north-east Spain. Dry and sunny for the Mediterranean islands. Thunderstorms will extensively break out for southern France, the Alpine regions and across into south-eastern Europe. Greece should escape with just local afternoon showers inland, whilst the Aegean islands are most likely dry. Sunny and warm for Cyprus and southern Turkey. Some thunderstorms around the Black Sea. Central and north-western France will be largely dry, but fairly cloudy, highs 19C. Thunderstorms breaking out for the Low Countries and central Germany. Risk of showers too in Denmark and southern Sweden, but well scattered. Fair weather for most of Scandinavia, and warm in the south, although cooler than previous days. Northern Norway and Finland are cool - northerly winds bringing showers.

Sunday Hot and sunny in southern Spain and Portugal. Cooler toward the north. Most of Iberia will be dry, scattered showers over the Pyrenees. Dry for the western Mediterranean islands. Thunderstorms will break out widely again across central Europe, affecting the Alps, southern Germany, central Italy, the Balkans and into Romania. Thunderstorms will also break out in a band across northern France and Belgium, perhaps extending into the Netherlands. Meanwhile, Greece and Cyprus will be warm and sunny. High pressure remains across northern Europe, bringing fair weather to Scandinavia. Cool in Finland and the Baltic states, and northerly winds may bring some showers. Warm sunshine in southern Sweden and Norway, cooler in the north.
