Some sunny spells south & east Good morning, It's a turbulent day for many areas today as an active area of low pressure influences the British Isles. Strong winds for most places, with the exception of Highland Scotland. Gusts inland across England & Wales will reach 35 to 40mph, and around exposed coasts and hills, expect gusts hitting 50 to locally 60mph at times.
Heavy rain will affect western regions, rarely ceasing much of the day for west Wales, north-west England & south-west Scotland. Showers will advance increasingly eastwards across the Midlands into the afternoon. Heavy bursts will move through quickly on the wind for central & eastern areas, but a risk of isolated thunder. Sunny spells away from showers. Top temperatures between 17 and 21C, warmest in the south-east, but feeling cooler in the wind, and only 14 to 16C where rain sets in. Have a great day. Garry
