Tornado Warning Issued For Parts Of Lamar County Until 12:30PM

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Tornado Warning for…
    Central Lamar County in west central Alabama…

* Until 1230 PM CDT

* At 1145 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Steens, or 8 miles northeast of Columbus, moving northeast at 40 mph.
    HAZARD…Tornado.
    SOURCE…Radar indicated rotation.
    IMPACT…Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
    Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include…
    Vernon, Sulligent, Blooming Grove, Lamar County Airport, Bedford, Star, Hightogy and Lamar County Public Lake.
