...THERE IS A MARGINAL RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE
MIDDLE TO UPPER TEXAS COAST...

...SUMMARY...
Thunderstorms will be possible from the western Gulf Coast to the
northern Plains through Tuesday night. A few thunderstorms with hail
or strong wind gusts may develop late Tuesday night near the central
to upper Texas Coast.

...Middle to Upper Texas Coast...
An upper-level trough will amplify and move southeastward across the
intermountain west into the southern and central Rockies from
Tuesday into Tuesday night. A 40 to 55 kt low-level jet will develop
in the southern Plains ahead of the trough resulting in strong
moisture advection across the southern half of Texas. Surface
dewpoints are forecast to increase into the upper 60s and lower 70s
F across the Texas Coastal Plains with moderate instability
developing during the overnight period. This combined with lift
associated with warm advection and moderate deep-layer shear should
be enough for a marginal severe threat late in the period in and to
the west of the Houston area. Strong wind gusts and hail will be the
primary threats with the greatest potential in the 09Z to 12Z
timeframe early Wednesday morning.
